Federal appellate court rules that mapping of cochlear implants is not a “related service” under IDEA

A three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia (D.C., Tax Ct., Fed. Admin. Agencies) has ruled that mapping of cochlear implants is not a “related service” under the U.S. Department of Education’s (ED) 2006 implementing regulations of the 2004 Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
